The 80-80 rule of projects

This old project management joke probably needs to be recirculated as I couldn't find it is a quick search.

The 80-80 rule of project management means 80% of the planned work (and schedule and budget) is done and 80% of the real work remains.

It's related to both the Pareto Principle and Parkinson's law. This notion also helps us think about why time boxes and incremental deadlines are a valuable technique in managing work.
