In 2007 I came across this resource from the University of Aukland - Situation, Industry and Environmental Analyses, a graduate student resource library.
"This guide is designed to assist you in finding online resources for completing a marketing situation analysis."
I bookmarked it with the intention of going back and reading more. Frankly, I have never had the time, although it looks promising.
